Current Projects

Station Keeping Airship

StratoStar is working to provide a platform which can carry payloads up to 140 Kg (300 lb) at an altitude of 24 km or (80K ft). This Platform will be an airship filled with lighter than air gases and use propulsion systems to keep the platform over one geographical location (Station Keeping).

This will allow for mobile phone technology to be launched into near-space giving a coverage area from one airship about the size of Texas. There are many other applications for a station keeping airship such as:

• Military operations and reconnaissance
• Wireless Broadband Coverage
• Replacement of Low Earth Orbit Satellites
• Space Weather Detection
• Remote sensing
