StratoSAT - Industrial / Governmental Applications
StratoSAT is a tactical non-orbital satellite, which is: low-cost, rapidly deployable and can be used in mesh network constellations for 24 hr 7 day a week over-the-horizon:
- C4ISR
- Movement of insurgence
- Extend Radio Communications (400 miles)
- Environmental Monitoring
- Disaster Relief
The list is almost endless.
StratoSAT uses Lighter-Than-Air (LTA) technology to ascend to its operating altitude of 80K feet to 120K ft, giving Sentinel 350 mile line-of-sight (LOS) to the horizon and a coverage area for wireless communications of up to 517k sq Miles. StratoSAT’s operational altitude also allows for higher resolution images compared to LEO Satellites, with continuous imaging persistence for the constellation of Sentinels.
All of StratoSAT’s operational and launch equipment will fit into a Humvee or large SUV and can be launched from any location in all weather conditions. Any person with one week of training can be a part of the two person StratoSAT launch team.
StratoSAT can be recovered for repeated launches or destroyed at a specified altitude, so assets are not put at risk during payload recovery.
Plug-and-Play Platform
StratoSAT is a plug-and-play platform which allows for in-field integration of mission specified sensors, imagers, and communications relays. StratoStar’s payload interface allows integration for any number of 110 kbs StratoStar encrypted downlinks for tracking and live data retrieval including, images, video, or data from any other sensor suite. This data can be sent to the launch vehicle, satellite, ground personnel, command post or any other specified area with a receiver.
Survivability
Sentinel has is inherently survivable. It has an extremely small radar and thermal cross section, making it relatively invulnerable to most traditional tracking and targeting methods. There are only a small number of missiles capable of reaching Sentinel’s operational altitude and if there was a direct hit Sentinel is replaceable in under and hour.
No over-flight restrictions
Currently there are no international over-flight restrictions on Near-Space Vehicles and due to Sentinels radar and thermal profile it’s won’t be noticed while in operation by those being watched.
Key Features:
- Low-cost C4ISR persistence
- Multiple encrypted high-speed data links
- Mesh network constellations
- Humvee or SUV based launch and operations
- Inherently survivability with small radar and thermal cross-section
- Plug-and-Play sensor integration for mission specified intent
- Near-Space currently has no over-flight restrictions
- Rapidly deployable in any location and all weather conditions
